The quality of a continuous cast bloom of rail steel was investigated for various regimes of casting rail steel on radial continuous casters. On the basis of the study optimal temperature and speed regimes were proposed and introduced into production. Rails R65 rolled from a 300 X 330-mm continuous cast bloom with a total reduction of 11.98 had a satisfactory macrostructure. The mechanical properties met the standards.
