The White House issued a memorandum recently titled, "Principles for Federal Engagement in Standards Activities to Address National Priorities," addressed to heads of executive departments and agencies. The memo was released jointly by three offices in the Executive Office of the President: the Office of Science and Technology Policy, the Office of the US Trade Representative, and the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs within the Office of Management and Budget.
