Report of the 58th Annual SES Conference

SES held its 58th annual conference during August 17-18, 2009 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Following is a report of the conference.The theme of this year's conference, "Reaching for the Top: New Heights for Standards," was addressed by speakers from industry, government, and standards developers in sessions that covered such topics as green standards, professional certification, participation in standards development, standards as a career, technology, innovation, and the business of standards. Conference Chairman Rae Dulmage (Underwriters Laboratories of Canada - ULC) opened the event by welcoming the participants, noting that "during the course of the next few days, we hope you'll find that 'Reaching for the Top' is a great way to view the world of standards."
