Have you been considering making the leap to becoming a standards developer but don't know where to start? This webinar is for associations that are considering starting a standards development program, or for standards developers looking for new ideas, particularly towards harmonizing with other associations. It will introduce the latest versions of the SES templates for managing standards development processes, and for creating ANSI-approved standards designations. Considerable expertise has gone into the creation of two documents that outline most of the documentation necessary to apply for ANSI's Accredited Standards Developer status. SES-1: Recommended Practice for the Designation and Organizations of Standards is an ANSI-approved SES standard that outlines how standards can be organized, labeled, and be brought into conformance with international best practices. SES-2: Model Procedure for the Development of Standards is a complete manual that can be customized to an organization's needs with all of the required components outlined in the ANSI "Essential Requirements." The documents are generic enough to be useful in many countries. A case study will be presented by one trade association that has used these documents to create a standards program from scratch, with advice and recommendations. Other SES documents will be introduced as further reading and detail.
