摘要

Successful completion of State acceptance tests by the VNS-7652M computerized measuring system developed by Kazchermetavtomatika Joint Stock Company has culminated in the awarding of certificate 553 on 22 December 2000, as well as State licenses for its testing and manufacture. The introduction of neutron-based computerized measuring systems to monitor the moisture content and density of solid fuel and iron ores in bunkers permits stabilization of blast-furnace smelting and increases the furnace productivity by 1.0-3.0 percent. The annual savings due to introduction of the VNS-7652M system, taking account of the capital expenditures, as well as amortization and repair costs, are around 118,000 dollars per year for an average blast furnace. More than 20 systems are in operation at blast furnaces of the Magnitogorskii Metallurgicheskii Kombinat Joint Stock Company, three more at the Kuznetskii Metallurgicheskii Kombinat Joint Stock Company, and another three at the Tulachermet Joint Stock Company.
