WATER WORLDS:Satellites, Internet advancing irrigation practices

From deep space to lateral canals, satellite imagery and wireless Internet communications — are advancing water management policies and irrigation decisions into the 21st century.Water resource scientists currently are using data taken from a Landsat Data Continuity Mission satellite with a Thermal Imaging Sensor (US), commonly called a Landsat, to study water usage and map évapotranspiration (ET) across the continental United States, as well as around the world.
