CNC machining adds critical features to manufacturer's stamped parts

In 2004 Connecticut Spring & Stamping (CSS). Farmington, Conn., a manulacturer of close-tolerance, precision stamped and coiled metal parts, began getting more and more customer requests for higher-precision parts off a progressive tool. Deciding a combination of stamping and CNC machining was the best approach, the company purchased a used machining enter and began engineering and designing its own fixtures. The initial customer for the process, a firearms manufacturer that needed a machined safely, was happy with the part quality.
