Stentoft (1994) discusses submarine cementation on the Atlantic soa floor between 110 and 324 m water depth. The hardground matrix of the lithi-fied carbonate samples which ho studied is com-posed of high-Mg calcito with 12-16 mol% MgCO3. These hardgrounds give conventional ~(14)C ages of 8780+130 and 12 960+190 yr BP.
