2007 Farm Bill - A Multi-Act Play

Time marches on and the deadline for new farm legislation keeps getting closer. Eighteen months ago the potato industry and our friends in the specialty crop industry got together to see if we could build a consensus on where the direction of federalsupport for specialty crops should go. At that point, 2007 seemed a long way off. Now, with the likely drafting of an actual bill by the Senate and House Agriculture Committees less than six months away, Act I and II of this dramatic play are complete and we settle in for the action that will occur in acts III, IV, V, VI and so on.
