Seed Potatoes in Gumet Valley, Ethiopia

"This field of seed potatoes is my second wife." Ethiopian potato farmer Fekadu Mulu spent countless hours tending one of his seed potato fields. He was proud of the field and spent so much time there he referred to it as his second wife. The benefits of the clean seed he used to plant the field were obvious. Planted on April 12, 2006, we saw how healthy the potato plants looked on May 26 near Fekadu's home in Gurnet Valley.
