Colt Automation Ltd. has delivered a low-profile inverter head electronic roll feed straightener feeding system to a Canadian automotive parts supplier. The 40,000-lb., 60-in.-wide straightener feeding system features a fixed coil car-traveling uncoiler combination with a hold-down roll mounted on the uncoiler frame. The coil car's height can be adjusted and raises or lowers the coil to align with the uncoiler mandrel correctly. The uncoiler has lateral travel that moves into position to pick up the coil and returns to position, correctly aligned to the system's centerline, the company reports.
