Production of steel in converters with an oxygen blow of the bath is accompanied by formation of a large amount of gases and dust. Most converter shops are equipped with a system for scrubbing the gases to remove dust. In domestic and world practice, the following technological line is the most Common one for preparing convener sledges: thickening - classification by size - filtration -thermal drying. Analysis of the operation of divisions for preparing steelmaking sludges showed that high capital and operating expenses are shortcomings of this scheme; moreover, the prepared sludges do not find industrial use in connection with their increased contents of zinc and other harmful components. Due to the absence of simple and economically profitable processes, most of these materials are disposed of in special burial sites, construction and of which require considerable funds[1].
