The production of LGMC is inexpensive and requires little energy for comminution and enrichment. Other conditions being equal (and especially with a shortage of iron ore), this suggests the use of 10-20 percent LGMC in the blast-furnace batch and offers good prospects for restoring the output of the mine to its design level, with further reduction in cost of the concentrate.
