NEW ROLLING EQUIPMENT PRODUCED BY THE CHERMETAVTOMATIKA JOINT STOCK COMPANY

The unit is intended to monitor the profile and barrel diameter of rollers for sheet-rolling mills. This unit permits reduction in nonplanarity of the rolled strip, thanks to increase in accuracy of the roller profile during grinding. The unit is based on measurement of the cross-sectional radius from the coordinates of three points of an arc on a motionless (nonrotating) roller. The unit (Fig. 1) consists of bracket with two supports and a linear-displacement sensor. The bracket rests on the roller surface by means of the ball bearings of the supports at the two extreme points of the arc, while the sensor measures the position of a third (middle) point.
