EXTENSION CONTINUES TO SERVE FARMERS

In 1914, President Woodrow Wilson signed the Smith-Lever Act to establish the Extension service as the educational arm of USDA. Extension assisted with the food production effort in World War I,victory gardens during World War II, and since then has improved food production while delivering important scientific information for farmers.
