As shown above the problem of corrosion control of a cooler-condenser can be adressed from several angles: material selection, construction, process. You should not limit yourself to only one of these, it is the combination which gives you the best result. In this case selecting XZCrNiN 23 4 for the tubes has resulted in improved operating reliability. It also makes the application of the gas inlet insert a feasible option. Furthermore the combination of a X2CrNi 19 11 shell with water cooling is very effective. The overall performance / corrosion control result has made it possible to postpone the planned turning of die cooler-condenser for at least two years. As the second 'half-life' of the cooler-condenser is expected to be at least equal to the first, this means a total lifetime elongation of over four years.
