Fomo Products' Handi-Foam Ignition Barrier

As of January 2011, updated requirements about the use of low-pressure spray polyurethane foam used in crawl spaces and attics come into action: An ignition barrier coating must be applied to all exposed foam surfaces in the attic or crawl space in order to be in compliance under applicable sections of the International Building Code (IBC) and International Residential Code (IRC). As a means of meeting these most recent requirements, Fomo Products, Inc., announces the launch of its newest product: Handi-Foam Ignition Barrier. It is a white, latex-based intumescent reactant. It can be sprayed to coat the surface of Handi-Foam E84 Class 1 spray foam, where it will react to fire by creating a carbon layer and removing fuel from the fire, not allowing the fire to ignite or delaying the progress of the fire to allow inhabitants to exit the building.
