The US steel manufacturer, North American Stainless, recently produced coil from its new hot annealing and pickling line, which has an annual capacity of just over 1.0 million tonnes. Total annual plant capacity will be lifted to 830,000 tonnes. Posco recently dedicated a new ferro-nickel refinery at its Gwangyang works with its joint venture partner SMSP. The plant will cater for half of Posco's normal annual FeNi requirement for stainless production. Posco has a 49 percent share in the venture and SMSP the rest.
