GLOBAL STAINLESS STEEL OUTPUT IN 2014 TO BE ANOTHER RECORD HIGH

World crude stainless steel production is predicted to reach an ail-time high of 41 million tonnes in calendar year 2014. This is slightly more than our previous forecast and would represent a 7.8 percent increase on the previous record figure, set last year. MEPS anticipates that global output will grow by a further 4.9 percent in 2015, to achieve a new peak volume of 43 million tonnes.
