Sales volumes in the United States picked up in January after poor performances in November and December. However, few people predict a significant year-on-year upturn in 2014. Basis values remain unchanged and the relative stability in alloy surcharges in recent months has encouraged supply chain participants to rebuild their inventories to normal levels.
