STAINLESS STEEL MARKET INFORMATION--GERMANY

Production: German stainless steel production fell to just 56,800 tonnes in March, acutback of 51.5% compared to the previous month. First quarter output was just 250,000 tonnes, 14.7% down on the previous quarter, and 44.5% down on the first quarter of last year. Order income: German stainless steel order income has continued to improve each month this year so far, with April orders according to provisional figures, at 92,900 tonnes, 26.4% up on the March level.
