The installation of the 13 percent Cr Nam Con Son flowline was successfully completed on August 13th 2002 by the Semac 1. Various difficulties were encountered during the project but all of them were resolved. The properties of the welds were consistently good and it has been shown that S-lay is a feasible installation method for 13 percent Cr pipelines.
