New rapid manufacturing bureau focuses on 'green' development

Materials Solutions is to open on the 7 0 University of Birmingham campus to help manufacturers speed the development of environmentally friendly products, for example those with reduced energy consumption, emissions and/or weight, and those involving new power generation and storage technologies. A key capability of the new company will be rapid prototyping and manufacturing to create metal components directly from CAD models using an EOSINT M 270 direct metal laser-sintering machine, delivered during September 2006 by EOS, Warwick.
