To be invited to participate in celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of a company would be an honour for any Editor. To be invited a quarter of a century later to celebrate the 125th anniversary at first appears to border on the miraculous. Not only because the Editor is still with us, but because the company in question, Boliinghaus Steel, despite all the economic and financial turmoil of the past few years, and the trials and tribulations of the stainless steel sector, is not only still in existence, but continues to thrive and expand. That the company continues to be so successful is, however, not at all surprising to those of us that have the pleasure to know Boliinghaus Steel ceo Hartwig Hartel personally.
