A promising start, but will it last?

Recent figures indicate that there was a strong recovery in stainless steel production in the EU at the beginning of the year. After the sharp drop of around 22% in December compared to the previous month, production surged by around 43% in January to almost 682,000 tonnes. Production in Spain increased by 48%, and in Belgium by 138%. Production in the "Nordic"grouping increased by 27%, with the main country, Finland, showing a 5% increase, but Sweden up 58%, and the UK almost doubling output.
