First half stainless production at all-time high

Preliminary figures released by the International Stainless Steel Forum (ISSF) show that stainless steel crude steel production increased in the first half of 2011 by 3.8% compared to the same period of 2010. Total production for the first six months of 2011 was 16.4m tonnes, a new all-time high. However, the increase in production was restricted to China and the Central and Eastern Europe region, compensating for losses in other major areas.
