Mills manage 20 euros/t price hike despite faltering demand

PRODUCERS have succeeded in raising prices for most flat products by 20 euros/t in the majority of EU regions for fourth quarter deliveries, despite a slight faltering in end demand. Prices are remaining buoyant as producers have the option of exporting flat products to highly-priced markets elsewhere. Furthermore, imports into the EU are relatively low, and will continue to be kept in check by the almost certain extension of EU safeguards on flats.
