Ferrochrome imports treble in 2007

Chinese imports of chrome ore have shown a consistent quarterly increase this year, rising from 1.33m tonnes in the first quarter, to 1.50m tonnes in the second quarter, and to 1.69m tonnes in quarter three. Third quarter imports were 12.9 percent up on the previous quarter. Chrome ore imports during the first nine months at 4.53m tonnes were 36.4 percent higher than in the same period of last year.
