The consumers having been educated want the best quality of product for their money. We have seen the watches which fell down from the wrist due to bad quality spring bars. Keeping this in view, the Bureau of Indian Standards has published a Standard IS 10865:1998 'Wrist Watches - Spring Bars for Watch Cases and Straps - Specification'. This standard was first published in 1984. This revision is based on the further experience gained in the manufacture of spring bars for wrist watch cases and other developments in the world. This standard is one of a series of Indian Standards relating to wrist watch cases. In the preparation of this standard assistance has been derived from NIHS 63-11:1978 Barrettes ressort. Norms De L' Horologere Suisse.
