The finalisation of the Kulungile Metals (Pty) Limited management buyout of Baldwins Steel and Stalcor from the diversified engineering group Dorbyl has enabled the new team to take a strong market position as one of the leading metals trading businesses in South Africa. With a combined annual turnover in excess of R1-billion, both Baldwins Steel and Stalcor are key players in their respective local market sectors. Baldwins Steel has an established reputation as a large distributor of mild steel in Southern Africa, while Stalcor has achieved a dominant position in distribution in the aluminium and stainless markets.
