The Mexican steel industry is on the up

THE Mexican steel industry's installed capacity increased from 19.7Mt in 2005 to 22.2Mt in 2007. It has remained at this level despite first the expansion and then the contraction of the world economy, krious projects, announced immediately before the crisis of 2008 were postponed and some of these were resuscitated afterwards. Now the steel industry in Mexico is experiencing a new phase of expansion.
