Current situation and prospects of bilateral steel trade between Russia and the EU

A major investment programme is well under way in the Russian Federation concentrated on the nine major integrated steel works which together produce nearly 90% of output. The aim is to stimulate the domestic market by offering customer leadproducts thereby reducing reliance on exports which are restricted by externally imposed quotes.
