Arab steel summit 2010 forecasts 6% growth

MOROCCO, North West Africa, was the location of the 2010 annual Arab Steel Summit organised by the Arab Iron & Steel Union (AISU). The city of Marrakech played host to the two-day conference and exhibition with a third day allocated for a plant visit to Maghreb Steel on the outskirts of Casablanca, to see their recently commissioned steckel mill. 310 delegates from 37 countries attended the event to hear 22 presentations covering growth strategies; the Arab steel industry; steel technologies and the global market trends and recovery. In addition there was an exhibition of 28 companies ranging from international plant suppliers to local providers of products and services.
