Surface inspection for automatic detection and classification of defects on hot strip

摘要

On-line surface inspection at mill speed of 100% of hot strip rolled along with defect classification has been achieved by combining new software with an existing inspection hardware. The neural network based system is designed to ignore defectfree areas after cursory examination thus devoting processing time to actual defects.
