China's E'Cheng Steel Works has contracted Techint technologies of Italy to design and supply an electric arc furnace.The EAF will have a production capacity of 63t/h and will be equipped with a 45MVA trans-former and an oxygen supersonic lance. It will feature Techint's Consteel system, which continuously feeds and preheats scrap into the EAF via a tunnel pre-heater. Techint Technologies will also provide start-up supervision and training.
