IS 7620 (Part 1) : 1986 'Medical electrical equipment -Diagnostic X-ray equipment : Part 1 Mechanical and electrical safety requirements' is one of the mandatory standard under certification for various X-ray equipments. MHR 15 has reviewed the requirements and decided to adopt IEC 60601 -2-7 to cover up additional requirements of X-ray generators and to incorporate latest modern technologies. This has now been published in dual numbering IS 13450 (Part 2/Sec 7)/IEC 60601-2-7. The scope of the standard is as follows.
