In a nationwide swoop against manufacturing and trading units using the ISI mark without a valid license,the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has seized a large cache of sub-standard consumer goods.The illegally manufactured items included pipe fittings,winding wires,non-stick cookware,cement,packaged drinking water and plywood.
