ISO 18812: 2003 Health informatics - Clinical analyser interfaces to laboratory information systems - Use profiles A new International Standard will make clinical laboratories more efficient by improving the exchange of electronic information between new laboratory equipment and computer systems. Analytical instruments are used in laboratories to analyze samples from patients. Some of these are interfaced to laboratory information systems that process the resulting data and produce reports. In most cases there is a need to write a different interface for each new analytical instrument installed in a given laboratory.
