摘要

The developed method of solid ferrochrome decarbonization under vacuum by means of iron ore or preliminary oxidized ferrochrome makes it possible to product a comparatively inexpensive low-silicon and carbon-free ferrochrome containing 0.01 percent to 0.03 percent C.The demand for ferrochrome with a lower carbon content is rapidly increasing as large-scale production develops high chromium stainless and heat-resistant steels. It has also brought about the need for further study and improvement.
