Government considers tariffs on TBR and some OTR tire imports

The U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) voted to end its antidumping (AD) and countervailing duty (CVD) investigation of off-the-road (OTR) tires imported from China on Feb. 19, 2016. However, the ITC will continue investigating OTR tires imported from India and Sri Lanka. The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) is also investigating whether imported OTR tires from India and Sri Lanka have harmed the domestic industry. The DOC agreed to a request from the petitioners, Titan Tire Corp. and the United Steelworkers (USW), to extend the deadline for a ruling to June 13, 2016. (Originally, the ruling would have come April 8.) A final determination will come 75 days later.
