Sponsors pull CA tire aging bill: Legislation may resurface later

A California state bill that would have required tire dealers to provide notification of a tires date of manufacture has been pulled from consideration at the request of its sponsors. The bill, A.B. 496, had been in front of the Senate Business, Professions and Economic Development Committee. It may still be brought up for consideration at a later date, says Dan Zielinski, senior vice president, public affairs, for the Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA). Zielinski told Modern Tire Dealer that the decision to pull the measure was a "tactic to avoid a public defeat."
