Evening shift pays off for Weyerhaeuser contractor Lance McCloud. Lance McCloud, the 40-year-old owner of McCloud Logging Inc. and McCloud Trucking Inc, has an unusual story about the way he came to be a logger. Unlike the majority of today's loggingforce, which learned the business through family members, McCioud took to logging all on his own. He spent almost two years Working on offshore oil rigs for 14 day stretches, with 14 days off in between. In order to fill his two weeks of free time, McCloud picked up some old logging equipment and started cutting a little timber. He eventually upgraded his equipment and started cutting even more, until he decided to scrap the offshore job in favor of his growing logging business. He started logging full-time almost nine years ago and hasn't looked back.
