摘要

In this issue, Helzberg et al1 report that in a group of National Football League (NFL) players, elevation of the liver enzyme alanine aminotransferase (ALT) was associated with obesity and markers of the metabolic (insulin resistance) syndrome and speculate that these elevations signify the presence of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).
