Pon Hurst, 48, owner of Hurst Logging Inc., isn't playing around when he goes to work. When he speaks about the industry he loves, he speaks with an unmistakable pride, passion and conviction. "I am serious about my logging," he says firmly. "You canask anybody. I go to extra pains to take care of the woods. We've got to be good stewards of the forest." At this point in his career he doesn't have time to get involved in associations—like many loggers, his days are full enough working on the job site— but one can easily envision him growing into a vocal advocate for the industry. Clearly, he believes in it with all his heart.
