Hands-On Logging

John Wade, owner and President of Timber-line Logging, Inc., is a hands-on logger. Wade runs the cutting and bunching machine, a Valmet Timbco 445, which clings to the mountains of southwestern Virginia and southeastern Kentucky where he deploys his operation. At times working on ground that is difficult to even walk on, he skillfully cuts and bunches hardwood that range from scraggly pulpwood to prime cherry veneer.
