Jeremy Slack, 30, owner of Jeremy Slack Logging LLC, is among the increasingly thinner ranks of younger loggers in the industry today. He started working for his father Tommy Slack when he was very young, skipping college and going right to work out of high school. He says logging was in his blood. "I got into it from working with my daddy, it was how I was raised and it's all I know." Jeremy went on his own in 1998 at age 21, starting with just a skidder and gradually building up, adding a loader and cutter. He has always used Timberjack and Prentice machines.
