Moving On Up: Annual meeting of the American Loggers Council attracts logging, equipment leaders

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. The 13th annual meeting of the American Loggers Council attracted approximately 250 or so to a finely appointed golf resort near here September 27-29. Outgoing President Charles Johns and the Southeastern Wood Producers Assn. (SWPA) did a masterful job in hosting the jam-packed event. For the first time ever, the ALC gathering drew top and/or high-ranking officials from Blount/Prentice (Dennis Eagan), Caterpillar (John Carpenter), John Deere (Kevin Kar-lix) and Tigercat (Ken MacDonald and Tony larocci). Other equipment companies dispatched representatives for the first time. As well, many regulars from the machinery and service sectors were on hand.
