This is a good example of the kind ofresearch done by university geographydepartments. A small karst spring hasbecome intermittent following the estab-lishment of forestry plantations in thecatchment area. This is part of a growingglobal problem, where land use changesand human habitation may impact watersupplies even in fairly distant areas.
