摘要

Coleus (Coleus barbatus Benth.) Syn, Coleus forskohlilBfiq., an important medicinal herb cultivated for the tubers. In recent years, even though chemical fertilizers played significant role in providing nutrients for intensive crop production, increased use of chemical fertilizers in an imbalanced manner has resulted into diminished soil fertility, multiple nutrients deficiency and unsustainable crop yields. Especially in medicinal plants, the chemical composition may get affected by use of chemicalfertilizers. In such case, organic production techniques are required for producing residue free produce. Keeping these in view, an experiment was carried out to study the effect of various organic manures, bio-fertilizers, Phosphate solubilising bacteria (PSB) and Vesicular Arbuscular Mycorrhiza (VAM); on various soil properties and thereby to work out the balance sheet of nutrients.
