摘要

Alternate bearing and low plant population per unit area are the causes for low orchard efficiency of mango grown in India. To achieve regular bearing, pruning of shoots immediately after harvest to encourage early vegetative growth and checking the influence of GA_3 in growing shoots to encourage flowering during the following season are righly essential. Most of the research work carried out so far concentrated on measures to regulate flowering with little or no emphasis on regulation of vegetativegrowth. The research work conducted in Philippines provided some solution to this problem by use of nutrient sprays. KNO_3 effect on flowering is inconsistant in India. The effect of Ca(NO_3)_2, NH_4NO_3 and KH_2P0_4 were studied by various workers at different places. In the light of above, the present study was undertaken to assess the effect of KNO_3, Ca(NO_3)_2, NH_4NO_3 and KH_2PO_4 on flowering of pruned trees of mango cv. Baneshan.
